NPR Puzzle: 12/27/09 -- Happy New Year!

Here's the puzzle for this week:

Take the phrase "pray when." Double four of these letters. Using these letters plus the four singles, rearrange all 12 letters to spell a familiar phrase. What phrase is it?

Um, the answer is pretty obvious:

HAPPY NEW YEAR !

And here's the Times Square Ball for good measure:

Everyone have a safe & joyous New Year's celebration, and we'll see you next year!

The answer to my analogous puzzle bring tea is Great Britain ... my attempt to tie the puzzle phrase in with the answer phrase.

What I like about the week's NPR puzzle is the way "pray when" seems to be the pessimist's take on the traditional greeting.

Roxie got "WHY WE EARN PAY." which I thought was cute. Happy New Year!
