I had a bit of a hiccup today when my primary care physician (who's lovely, by the way) thought I couldn't wait until after school (a ten-day residency starting next Friday) to be evaluated for lung surgery.
Not good news. Luckily, my PCP took the time to meet with a cardio-thoracic surgeon and they both looked at my scans. The surgeon (who sounds lovely) believes I may be a candidate for VATS (video-assisted thoracoscopy--basically, they stick a teeny camera inside my lung to find all the remaining pockets of infection and clear them out) but that I don't have miss school.
And, yes, before you start counting on both hands, I am collecting specialists at a great rate. What can I say? I present an interesting case...
Anyway, Ross and I will be able to take our vacation as planned, so the blog is officially on sabbatical until Sunday, July 28.
Unless I have surgery that week. In which case, Ross will let you know.
I hope you're all having lovely summers yourselves.
